Egyptian deity makeovers

I’ve been working on statuettes of several Egyptian gods for my own devotional use. In some cases I’m simply stripping their existing paint jobs and applying what I consider a better one; in others, some serious modifications are necessary before painting.

For the Osiris figure I’ve taken more pictures and posted more stages in the process to help show how I do it.

𓊨𓁹𓀭 Osiris

Since Osiris is the god of renewal and resurrection, I’ve put him first, and his makeover page provides the general instructions for the process, as used on all the figures.

𓊨 𓏏𓆇 Isis

The figure of Isis, when purchased, had a horned disk atop her vulture crown. I replaced that with her “throne” hieroglyph, since the other tutelary goddesses all get their glyphs as well. Additionally, I slightly cleaned up her wꜣs (was) scepter.

𓉠𓏏𓆇 Nephthys

Nephthys was made from the same “model” as Isis, so her customizations were essentially the same, other than sculpting the different hieroglyph.

𓌂𓐍𓏏 Sekhmet

Sekhmet’s “hat” was perfect as purchased, just the solar disc with uraeus, so the only extra “sculpting” with her was gluing her wꜣs scepter together, as with the others.
