Sekhmet makeover

A Sekhmet figure, fortunately, could be purchased as such; I don’t think I could do justice to her face if I had needed to sculpt a lioness’s head. But she had a black and gold paint job much like Isis did and I wanted to make her much more vital. See the Osiris makeover for the general process that I follow with all these figures.

The paint stripping went just as it did with the other figures, as did regluing the wꜣs.

So the first picture I took is this, after her first coat of primer.

First stages of painting.

Yes, Sekhmet is depicted as a lioness with a green face. For an example, see her image in KV19, the tomb of Prince Mentuherkhepshef.

Further painting. I decided that being Sekhmet, her dress should be the color of blood.

Getting there! Her eyes, nose, scruff, and snout are now done. Her snout was my first attempt at drybrushing, and I think it worked pretty well! I did similarly on her scruff.

Finished painting. Note the hems on her dress now have small bits of painted inlay.

Got the broad tile base, clearcoat, and felt underneath.

The Powerful Lady, completed.
